Special Events for the Compassionate Friends
Friends and family are invited to join The Compassionate Friends in the annual WorldWide Candle Lighting event on Sunday December 14. Join us as friends and family around the globe light candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died at any age and from any cause. Candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time, creating a virtual wave of light, as hundreds of thousands of people commemorate and honor the memory of children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries.

There will be a slide show of all our children shown during the ceremony. Start looking for a picture of your child that you would like to be shown. Send photos (max 3) to liccica79@gmail.com. Write “Candlelight Photo” in the Subject line. Since it will be included in the slide show, provide the child’s name, year born/ died, short message to your child, and name of parents.
You may submit a poem or a song request which we will work into the program if possible. The Deadline to be included in the slide show is December 5. The event will start at 6:30. The actual Candle lighting is at 7. Your contribution of finger foods for after the ceremony are welcomed. Drinks will be provided. Since space may be limited, we ask families to indicate how many will attend when submitting their photos.
